Ed Caraeff

Ed Caraeff is a renowned photographer and art director known for his extraordinary contributions to the music industry. Over his career, he has photographed, designed, and directed the art for hundreds of album covers. His extensive archive includes iconic figures such as Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Iggy Pop and The Stooges, Elton John, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, Tom Waits, Tim Buckley, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, and Marvin Gaye.

Caraeff’s work is part of the permanent collection at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and has graced the covers of numerous magazines worldwide. One of his most famous achievements is the serendipitous photograph of Jimi Hendrix setting his guitar ablaze at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. Widely regarded as one of the most iconic images in rock history, this photograph remains the only one to appear twice on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.
