Born in India to a family of artists, Srinjoy Gangopadhyay recognized his destiny as an artist from a very young age. His life journey has taken him across the globe, where he has immersed himself in the design and animation industry, gaining experience and knowledge under the mentorship of renowned modern, street, and pop artists.
Srinjoy achieved his Master of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art & Design in Atlanta, GA, in 2015. During his time at SCAD, he was honored with a prestigious juried residency at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts in New York. His stunning artworks have been showcased at major galleries and exhibitions worldwide and have featured in significant art industry publications such as Art Radar Journal, Sharks Eat Meat, and The Zeal Life.
At the core of Srinjoy’s work is his exploration of the theme of ‘Utopia’ in a contemporary context, using map and model making. His influences range from pop culture to deep ecology. His works often reflect contemporary experiences, holding a mirror to reality, or transport the viewer to alternative worlds. Srinjoy’s creations also re-imagine Utopian pasts or envision alternative realms.
