Brian Aris

Brian Aris’ early career as a photojournalist took him around the world on a series of frontline assignments. He covered global events including the civil unrest and riots in Northern Ireland, the plight of Palestinian children in Jordan, the civil war in Lebanon, famine in Africa and the war in Vietnam.

Later, changing direction, Brian opened a studio in London where he started photographing fashion and glamour models for newspapers and magazines. During the next two decades he covered every aspect of the music scene from pop stars to punk bands. Everyone from Madonna to The Clash.

Brian’s work is not limited to record covers, however. He was commissioned to produce the official portraits marking Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th birthday as well as the Golden Wedding Anniversary portraits of her marriage to The Duke of Edinburgh. Brian has also photographed many glamorous weddings. Among them are Bob Geldof to Paula Yates, Sting to Trudy Styler, David Bowie to Iman , Liza Minelli to David Gest, Joan Collins to Percy Gibson and David Beckham to Victoria in an Irish castle.

His photographic archive represents one of the largest individual collections in the U.K. We at Labyrinth Gallery Brighton are delighted to offer our customers a selection of his limited edition fine art prints for sale.

All framed artworks by Brian Aris come with Art Glass with 70% UV protection.
