Description
CND Soldiers, 2005 – Banksy
About this piece: Probably Banksy’s most notorious anti-war work, CND Soldiers is a limited edition silkscreen print released by Pictures on Walls of London in 2005, in an edition of 350 signed and 350 unsigned impressions.
The image originally appeared as part of a demonstration in Parliament Square in 2003, one of the numerous protests against Britain’s involvement in the Iraq War. It’s a work of bitterly ironic contrasts – the CND peace symbol executed in blood red, soldiers as activists – and one of Banksy’s most topical images.
Edition: Numbered 5 from the edition of 350. Signed and numbered in pencil
Materials: Screenprint on paper
