About this piece: David Bowie memorabilia – Self Portrait was based on the Heroes Album cover but was made for the Osolar 11 tour. The Original artwork was created by Bowie in charcoal, pen and ink and was used extensively by RCA (and later Ryko) to promote David Bowie in 1978. The image was then also used on the cover of the album’s press kit for the Heroes album, press advertisements, tour posters and on the cover of the program for the ’78 Tour, Isolar II.
