Description

Ol Dirty Bastard – Lenticular by Gavin Evans

About this piece: This stunning lenticular print by Gavin Evans of Russell Tyrone Jones, better known by his stage name Ol’ Dirty Bastard. The American rapper was one of the founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan, a rap group primarily from Staten Island, New York City, which rose to mainstream prominence with its 1993 debut album Enter the Wu-Tang. The breath-taking lenticular artwork uses a series of tiny vertical lenses to create a spectacular effect. Perspective and parallax are at play; no two viewpoints are the same. The lenticular is a constantly shifting narrative as shards of light refract, dissipate and dissolve.
