“Freeway of Love” (Aretha Franklin) By Louis Sidoli
About this piece: Inspired by her 1985 hit “Freeway Of Love”, this depicts Aretha with her hands praying (Also a reference to “I say a little Prayer”) with the background depicting her hometown Detroit and a Pink Cadillac in the foreground which references the lyrics of the song ‘We’re going riding on the freeway of love. In a pink Cadillac.’ In 2018 at her funeral, a procession of 130 pink Cadillacs lined the streets of ‘motorcity’ Detroit in homage to her.
This piece was originally Designed, Hand Sketched, Drawn and then Digitally Printed. Each piece of his artwork is always hand signed and provided with a certificate of authenticity.
This piece is made from brushed aluminium with a high gloss finish, which is float mounted within an aluminium frame.
