“Call Me” Debbie Harry / Blondie by Louis Sidoli
About this piece: “Call Me” was the theme to the 1980 film American Gigolo starring Richard Gere as a high class male escort and featured in the opening sequence of the film. It was written by electronic / disco legend Giorgio Moroder with lyrics and vocals by Debbie Harry. Released in the US in early 1980 as a Blondie single, “Call Me” was No. 1 for six consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it became the band’s biggest single. It also hit No. 1 in the UK and Canada. In the year-end chart of 1980, it was Billboard’s No. 1 single. The artwork features a map of midtown Manhattan, which is synonymous with Debbie Harry and Blondie. The 1980’s public payphone dial features a “Debbie Harry calling card” on the dial, inspired by the type of cards escorts used to leave in public payphones. The “A” is a silhouette of the iconic singer and the telephone number references some of the bands songs: Detroit 442 and 11:59.
Supplied from a Limited Edition of just 20 it is hand signed and numbered by the artist, with a certificate of authenticity.

80’s Sweet Dreams Online Exhibition is a new collection of fine art prints by Louis Sidoli celebrating some of the most iconic artists and best loved singles of the 1980’s. This collection is visually linked by the ‘circle within a square’ theme, which represents a vinyl record in its sleeve. Sketches of each artist are combined with maps, text and graphics, which tell the story of each track.
“I named this collection after one of my favourite singles of the 1980’s – “Sweet Dreams” by the Eurythmics. I loved the electronic sound, the lyrics and the surreal imagery of the video.”
