Description

“Waterloo” (ABBA) Red, Blue by Louis Sidoli – Small

About this piece: “Waterloo was written specifically by ABBA to be entered into the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton UK, after the group finished third with “Ring Ring” the previous year in the Swedish pre-selection contest, Melodifestivalen 1973. The song differed from the standard “dramatic ballad” tradition of the Eurovision Song at the time with its glam rock influence. The song shot to No. 1 in the UK and stayed there for two weeks, becoming the first of the band’s nine UK No. 1’s. This artwork features both lead vocalists Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad in their military inspired costumes that they wore at the song contest final including Agnetha’s iconic blue crochet skull cap.”

This piece is made from brushed aluminium with high gloss finish, float mounted in black anodised aluminium frame.

Supplied from an edition of just 5 pieces in each size. Each is signed by artist with certificate of authenticity.
